Belur

Belur, located in the Hassan district of Karnataka, stands as a crowning jewel of the Hoysala Empire. Once the flourishing capital of the Hoysala dynasty during the 12th century, the town is world-renowned for the magnificent Chennakeshava Temple. This architectural marvel was commissioned by King Vishnuvardhana in 1117 AD to commemorate his victory over the Cholas at Talakad.
