Well if you are planning to visit dakshin kannada, here's a small trip guide.

If you are travelling from Bangalore:- 

Visit Dharmasthala - 330 Kms 
Next there are 2 ways you can go to mangalore ( about 75 kms) or udupi (110 kms).
In Mangalore there are lots of places to visit which includes temples, beaches, shopping malls and later on you can go to udupi (60 kms) and also on the way you can also plan to visit Kateel temple.
Or if you plan the alternative way to udupi via karkala from Dharmasthala, visit Shri Krishna temple and visit Malpe beach and you can travel to Kollur (75 kms) or Shringeri (83 kms). If you had planned for sringeri you can go to horanadu which is about 42 Kms.
