Ghati Subramanya

Ghati Subramanya is a historic and spiritually significant Hindu temple located in the rural landscape of Doddaballapura, Karnataka. Set against a serene backdrop of green hills, this ancient shrine is dedicated to Lord Subramanya, the deity of snakes. What makes this temple unique in Hindu iconography is the orientation of its primary idol: Lord Subramanya is depicted as the King of Serpents facing eastward, while the image of Lord Narasimha is visible on the western side of the same monolithic idol via a strategically placed mirror behind the sanctum. This dual-deity manifestation represents the harmonious union of Shaivite and Vaishnavite traditions.

The temple's origins are steeped in local folklore and ancient traditions, with roots extending back to the Hoysala and Vijayanagara architectural styles.
