Kollur

Sri Mookambika Temple in Kollur is one of the most revered Shakti Peethas in India, nestled in the serene Western Ghats along the banks of the sacred Sowparnika River. This ancient temple, located 140 km from Mangalore, holds a unique place in Indian spirituality as it is believed to be the only temple dedicated to Goddess Mookambika, who embodies the powers of Maha Lakshmi, Maha Saraswathi, and Maha Kali. According to mythological legends, the temple is associated with the destruction of the demon Mookasura by Goddess Parvati.
