The Kumaraswamy Temple in Sandur is a historic and spiritually significant site perched atop the Lohachala Hill, also known as the Iron Hill. Legend narrates that the deity chose this serene hillock, surrounded by iron and manganese-rich forests, to meditate. It is believed that the divine energy of the deity permeates the surrounding landscape, providing solace to those who climb the hill in search of spiritual enlightenment.

Historical Significance: The temple complex dates back to the 8th century, with contributions from the Rashtrakutas, followed by significant expansions during the Kalyana Chalukya and Vijayanagara periods.
