Overview of Burude Jog Falls

Burude Falls, also known as Burude Jog Falls, is a spectacular cascading waterfall located near Honnekomb in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka (PIN: 581322). The word 'Burude' translates to 'skull' in Kannada, the local language. Situated approximately 20+ km from Siddapur and 55 km from Sirsi along the Siddapur-Kumta road, this hidden gem is a haven for nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts.

Highlights and Experience

The waterfalls offer a breathtaking view, especially when enhanced by the surrounding mist. Visitors can observe the falls from a specially constructed viewing stage. During summer, reaching the base of the falls requires a thrilling trek through a small creek. Conversely, winter and monsoon seasons make the valley and falls almost inaccessible due to heavy water flow and slippery terrain. Exploring the opposite side of the waterfalls involves serious and challenging climbing. Due to its remote terrain and distance, a 2-day stay is often recommended for a thorough and safe exploration.

Travel Guide

The best time to visit Burude Falls is during the winter and early summer months when the weather is favorable and the trekking paths are relatively safer. Visitors should come prepared with sturdy trekking shoes, adequate supplies, and caution, as the terrain can be demanding.

Scenic multi-tiered waterfalls, misty valley views, and adventurous trekking experiences.
