Chunchanakatte Water Falls - Complete Guide

Chunchanakatte Falls is a picturesque waterfall located on the river Kaveri in the Krishnaraja Nagar taluk of Mysore district, Karnataka. Dropping from a height of about 20 feet, the water cascades down in multiple streams, creating a roaring sound that echoes through the surrounding greenery. The place holds immense religious significance due to the famous Kodanda Rama Temple situated on the river banks.

According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that Lord Rama stayed here during his exile. Goddess Sita is believed to have taken a bath in these holy waters at Dhanuskoti, which legend says gave the water a turmeric tinge. The area also boasts historical and modern infrastructure, including an 18 MW hydral power station established between 1994 and 1998.
