Originally known as Kuduma, it is renowned for the centuries-old Manjunatha Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. A unique aspect of Dharmasthala is that while it is a Shiva temple, it is traditionally administered by a Jain Heggade family, showcasing an extraordinary example of religious harmony and cultural activity.
