The Kolaramma Temple is an ancient and historically significant shrine located in the Fort Area of Kolar, Karnataka. Dedicated to Goddess Mahishamardini (locally revered as Kolaramma), this temple is a brilliant specimen of Dravidian architecture, built during the reign of the Chola king Rajendra Chola.

Constructed using granite and soapstone, the temple features intricate carvings, fine pillars, and architectural elements characteristic of the Chola era. One of the most unique and intriguing aspects of the temple is the idol of Kapala Bhairavi, which is mysteriously associated with scorpions.
