Koodlu Theertha Falls Overview

Koodlu Theertha Falls is a mesmerizing waterfall located near Hebri on the Udupi-Agumbe Road in Karnataka. Nestled amidst the dense forests of the Western Ghats and adjacent to the Agumbe ranges, the waterfall is the first fall of the River Sita and is also known as Sita Falls. It is widely considered one of the most beautiful and pristine falls in Karnataka.

Highlights & Geography

The waterfall descends from a height of about 300 feet, plunging straight into a holy pond. According to legend, sages meditated here thousands of years ago, making the waters sacred to locals. Visitors can trek through 4 km of dense forest, cross the River Sita via a bridge, and even stand beneath the falling water, though caution is required due to the immense force of the plunge.
