The town boasts exceedingly well-crafted temples showcasing the fine sculpture of the Palegar era. The most prominent landmark is the massive Pushkarini (temple pond), which features a stunning two-storeyed mantapa (building) right in the middle. Built entirely of dressed red granite stone, the Pushkarini exhibits a fascinating blend of Hindu and Muslim architectural styles. The sides and corners of this magnificent structure house shrines dedicated to the Ashta Dikpalas (guardians of the directions).
