Shivasamudram, located 85 km from Mysore in Karnataka, is a stunning island town formed by the Cauvery River. The river gracefully branches out into two picturesque waterfalls known as Gaganchukki and Bharachukki, plunging 91 meters into deep gorges, creating a magnificent and roaring spectacle often referred to as 'The Bluff'. Shivasamudram holds immense historical significance as the site where Asia's first hydro-electric power station was established in 1902. On the island, visitors can also pay their respects at the revered Ranganatha Swamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, making it a perfect blend of nature, history, and spirituality.

Twin waterfalls (Gaganchukki and Bharachukki), Asia's first hydro-electric power station, and the ancient Ranganatha Temple.
