Unchalli Falls Travel Guide

Unchalli Falls, also known as Lushington Falls or Keppa Falls, is a breathtaking waterfall located near Yellapur in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka (PIN: 581331). Discovered in 1845 by J.D. Lushington, a district collector of the British Government, the falls are formed by the Aghanashini River, which cascades down from a majestic height of about 450 feet.

Often referred to as 'Mini Niagara', the falls earn the name 'Keppa Falls' due to the deafening, unique roaring sound they produce. The site is an absolute paradise for nature lovers and trekkers, offering a thrilling 5 km trek from Heggarne village through dense forests, steep mountain slopes, deep gorges, and rich flora hosting rare avian species.
