Kanniyamman Temple: Located almost in the central part of the city, this ancient temple of the village Goddess was a popular shrine in the olden days. The deity has the origin even from the days of Karikala Cholan, when the old temple was located at Shakanoor Pallam. Known as the patron deity of the city, it has now been developed as a modern temple visited by many devotees.
